Abstract

The development of the current carrying charge density wave state was studied in orthorhombic TaS3 through direct current-voltage measurements, and through the study of low frequency time dependent phenomena. Below 100 K, switching, hysteresis, and low frequency oscillations are observed. These are associated with transitions between the pinned and current carrying state and between metastable states.
