Abstract
A method for deriving the partition functions of two-dimensional exactly-solvable vertex models of statistical physics is proposed. This method reduces the problem to a solution of functional equations and may be used when the matrix of the vertex weights do not satisfy the crossing symmetry condition. By means of this method the partition function of the ZN × ZN-invariant vertex model is computed.
