The attitude of scientists while speaking to the media in volatile situations is discussed. Communications specialists sometimes try to help scientists by teaching them tricks for dealing with journalists. Behavior that might appear as a sign of caution, concern or integrity to another scientist can be regarded as arrogant, threatening or dangerous to a non-scientist. Is is stated that the best approach which should be adopted by scientist is to practise evocation.
