The QCD Flux Tubes

Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingChapterpeer-review

Abstract

The story of QCD flux tubes started in the 1960s, prior to the discovery of QCD, with two important hints. At the time, experimental discoveries of multiple hadronic states were the main occupation of high-energy physics, and discovery and tests of flavor SU(3) symmetry were the focus. It became obvious that mesons and baryons cannot be “elementary particles,” as they were expected to be earlier.
