Abstract

The present paper reports a theoretical study of the maqnetostatic-surface-wave (%%) scatterinq properties of a thin metal strip placed at an arbitrary height above the YIG film. The problem is first solved for the MSSW scatterinq properties of a Semi-infinite metal plane using the Wiener-Hopf technique. The latter results are then used, in conjunction with a scatterinq-mtrix formalism, to obtain the MSSV scattering properties of a mtal finger of finite width. In qualitative aqreement with the results obtained previously usinq an approximate Green's function approach, the present work represents mch greater accuracy and at the same time provides informtion on the amplitude as well as the phase of the scattering coefficients.
