Ultrafast infrared near-field vibrational nano-spectroscopy

Abstract

We demonstrate femtosecond infrared vibrational free-induction decay spectroscopy on the nano-scale. The near-field coupling between the transient molecular polarization and optical antenna properties of the metallic scanning probe tip can enhance the vibrational dephasing.
