Abstract

Vanadium based materials have wide ranging structural diversity and have been widely studied as cathode materials for lithium based batteries. Incorporation of a second metal site furthers the ability to tune electrochemical functionality of the system. Investigations of both bimetallic vanadium oxides and vanadium phosphates for primary and secondary battery electrodes are described. Novel approaches for morphological and compositional control of vanadium based materials are presented, along with resulting electrochemical impact.
