Abstract
The measured thermal conductivity of insulating Bi2Sr2YCu2O8 is used to estimate the phonon part of the thermal conductivity κ(T) of the superconductor Bi2Sr2CaCu2O8. Subtraction gives an "experimental" electronic part κel, and thus a Wiedemann-Franz ratio L = κel/σT, close to the Lorenz number L0, with a small temperature dependence opposite to conventional electron-phonon scattering.
